About This Event
This 6-hour coding workshop is great for anyone who is curious about programming. The workshop does not assume a participant to have any prior knowledge of computer programming.
Python is an open-sourced programming language that is very powerful and versatile. It is employed in many domains such as data science, web applications, and games. Did you know that the first version of Google search engine was mainly written in Python? Python’s simple and clear syntax makes learning a lot easier. It is no wonder that currently, 70% of Universities and Colleges teach Python as a first language to their Computer Science and Engineering students.
The workshop emphasizes hands-on coding exercises. Here’s an example.
In this workshop, participants will learn the key programming concepts and write codes in Python 3.X. There will be plenty of hands-on coding exercises to help participants to gain a firmer grasp of the programming concepts e.g. decision making, iterations, functions, unique data structures, file IO and object-oriented principles. Besides equipping the participants with valuable Python coding skills, the workshop encourages thinking through a problem and solving it in a systematic way.
More details and scope of this workshop can be found here.
Our past participants’ feedback on this workshop can be found here.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Participants must bring along their own laptops or macs. All hands-on coding exercises will be done on the participants’ laptops or macs. No laptops or macs will be provided.
